Stone Ridge Christian FFA Impresses National FFA With Amazing Hall of States Booth


Even though the Stone Ridge Christian FFA is in its second year of being a chapter, they had the privilege of traveling to the 91st National FFA Convention to compete in the Hall of States competition. Hall of States is a way for chapters to depict their state’s agriculture and FFA association in the form of an interactive 10x10 booth. Prerequisites included winning at the state level among other chapters in California. Although SRC FFA was a brand new chapter, they were able to win and take the title for California. Stone Ridge’s booth highlighted the national commodities grown 99% in California, along with a parallel history of agriculture and the FFA. Engaging members in trivia games, a variety of free samples and giveaways, At the 91st National Convention in Indianapolis, SRC participated with thirty other states and took second place overall in the whole National FFA. Members and guests flocked to the attractive booth, and SRC FFA attendees were even interviewed by the National FFA.

Although Stone Ridge did not win, the impact their booth had on others was immense. Visitors thought it was fun to try new things, like olive oil samples or dates! Some were in awe of the great variety of things grown in California, or shocked by all of the interactive elements of California’s booth. Many stopped to take photos or ask questions regarding the booth’s creation, or to compliment the obvious hard work and effort put into making everything happen. SRC FFA members were able to impress a new knowledge into attendees at the 91st annual National FFA Convention and Expo, and that meant a lot to each and every one of them. Representing California was a great honor, and they were thankful to have the opportunity to teach others about the amazing things their state has to offer.
