SRC FFA Shows Off at the Merced County Fair 2018

The Stone Ridge Christian FFA chapter ended its first year strong with a great time at the Merced County Fair this past week.

Although the chapter is small, they were able to have 11 dairy replacement heifers, 3 goats, 2 lambs, and 1 single fryer rabbit shown this year.

Students in SRC FFA were excited to show this year, with some members having never shown before, but audience members would never have known.

SRC FFA members were professional and dedicated every step of the way, whether managing their animal, prepping to show, or selling.

In the sheep exhibitor department, 2017-2018 freshmen Kolbee Souza and Sasha Stillman both placed 4th in their separate market classes, and Sasha placed 5th in Freshman Showmanship.

Great job to all of the goat exhibitors, Mia Rodriguez, Daniel Bauer, and Carson Dahlhoff!

Dairy replacement heifers was the most popular group this year, and SRC FFA had an amazing 5 out of 12 Top Replacement Heifers in FFA at the Merced County Fair, with one of those (Sophia Vander Dussen) being in the top 4. Congratulations to all the FFA members who showed heifers!

SRC FFA's smallest showing department was rabbits, with Andrea Esquivel showing a single fryer this year.

Great job Andrea!

Even though SRC FFA is new to showing, they tried their best and did some amazing things.
