SRC FFA officers help man color run booth

Updated: May 23, 2018

Officers from the Stone Ridge Christian FFA chapter represented their organization by manning a corral and booth at the school's first annual Billy's Run, a 5k color run in honor of the late Bill Martin, the first principal of Providence Christian School.

A color run takes a lot of work to put on, so FFA was in charge of making the colored powder to throw and sell to runners and families at the race. Seemingly easy at first, the task got bigger over time.

For the past week, all of the agricultural classes had to mix flour, water, and food coloring to make a dough which then was rolled out, laid in the sun to dry, and processed and blended multiple times in order to make a fine colored powder.

Although it was a mess, it was a fun experience for FFA members during the color run. Hopefully next year will be even better.

Enjoy this short video showing the booth at which officers sold colored powder.
